How to sign up:

1. Let your Principal and/or School Liaison know you are interested in hosting a pre-service teacher from Werklund School of Education!
   • Please know we require the full support of School Principal, Liaison and School Board to place a pre-service teacher.
2. Learn more about our Field Experiences and the Partner Teacher role
3. Email us at upefield@ucalgary.ca with your name, email and grade level(s)/teaching assignments, and the name of your school.

What to expect after you sign up:

By submitting the form will ensure we reach out to your school during our recruitment process!

1. Late June:
   • We work with your School Principal, Liaisons and School Board to ensure we have their support to match you with a Pre-Service Teacher
   • We reconfirm your interest and teaching assignment
2. Late August:
   • We reconfirm your interest, teaching assignment and school support
3. Late September:
   • We finalize our Field III/IV placements in September.
   • If we successfully match you with a Field Experience III/ IV pre-service teacher, we will provide those details in late September.
4. November:
   • If we were not able to successfully match you with a Field III/ IV pre-service teacher, we will reach out. We will prioritize you when placing our Field II pre-service teachers.
   • We will reach out to all Partner Teachers on our Field II roster, to confirm your interest, teaching assignment and school support
5. January:
   • We finalize our Field II placements in January.
   • If we successfully match you with a Field Experience II pre-service teacher, we will send you our confirmation email in late January.

Please note: Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee we will match you with a pre-service teacher. We are not always able to find a suitable match for all our placements and partner teachers. Please know we will do our very best – we are very thankful so many Partner Teachers are interested in mentoring a pre-service teacher from the Werklund School of Education. Our matches are based on your teaching assignment (subject, grades) and Pre-Service Teacher specialization, interests, residential location, and diversity of experience.
